Rhizome Barrier

Rhizome barrier is a heavy duty, semi flexible plastic material used to help contain bamboo.  Rhizome barrier is NOT an effective permanent control method, and is most effective when used in conjunction with other methods such as rhizome pruning.  Rhizome barrier can be very effective when used to barrier along 1-3 sides of a bamboo grove, for example, to prevent bamboo from spreading onto neighboring property. If used alone, for full circle containment, the slow buildup of rhizome mass contained by the barrier will eventually result in poor growth of the bamboo, death of the bamboo, or rupture of the barrier material, and escape of the bamboo.
