Semiarundinaria yashadake 'Kimmei'
A fast growing, beautiful bamboo. Kimmei has large leaves, which have an occasional white stripe, and the translucent golden culms have a green stripe. The canes blush red in the fall when the temperatures cool, making it a centerpiece when most other plants have lost their luster. This bamboo makes a wonderful potted accent plant, or, if groomed and thinned, a beautiful specimen grove. Produces a multitude of shoots each year, with a vigorous growth habit, so if planted in the ground, it must be given room to roam, or controlled in some manner.
